State Farm Cemetery

I just couldn’t help myself. Over-contrasted B+W grave stones are some of the most banal pictures one can take but while on another assignment I happened upon the eternal resting place of 300+ unknown souls and the cliche’ camera got the best of me. In the 30’s and 40’s the nearby prison (and then insane asylum) needed a cemetery for residents who lacked loved ones to inter their remains.

There’s a boat launch there now. I’m thinking of doing a canoe trip down the Pawtuxet this summer.
