Man on the Street

I did a job for the paper last week and the people who were most related to the story were all had reasons why they couldn’t be interviewed. They were distraught over the circumstances or had already been bothered by less sensitive news gatherers…

In any case when that happens we resort to the asking ‘The Man on the Street’ what he thinks.

…or for that matter what she thinks… it doesn’t necessarily have to be a man… doesn’t even have to be on the street.

It’s not the best best best way to tell a story with pictures but you play the hand that’s dealt ya’ and I’ll say it is a good exercise in getting a quick picture (often the subject is making hurried remarks to the reporter while pumping gas or at work or whatever) and hoping like heck it’s imbued with some emotion

… or for that matter exposed properly.
